Performance Parts for your Honda S2000

Mention the name Honda, and the first thing to come in mind would probably be reliability, practicality and compact cars. Add the word performance however, and you're thinking of the S2000. A car that was so unlike Honda at the time of launch. It looked and still looks modern to this very day. The Honda S2000 is a roadster that was manufactured for 10 years straight, between 1999 and 2009 when production ended. The car was launched as a celebration of Honda's 50th anniversary. The name originally came from its engine capacity, 2000 referring to the car's engine displacement, 2 liters.

Undoubtedly striking, the car received positive feedback on its looks alone, and that was way before you ever even got in and drove one. Multiple changes and tweaks were made during the lifetime of the car's production. The engine, suspension, gearbox, everything was tweaked and improved. A 10 year production is a long time, especially for a single model with no big successors, so these tweaks were certainly made welcome when they came. The interior and exterior were updated too, giving the car an even more modern appearance. Officially, only two iterations of the S2000 are in existence, the initial AP1 model and the facelifted AP2, which had big improvements in the drivetrain and suspension areas. Although similar, the AP2 can be recognized, as it boosted a much cleaner look, and it seemed fresher. The AP2 also addressed some of the AP1's issues, criticism on the car's oversteer tendency. While most enthusiasts actually preferred the AP1 because of this, it really did have a big tendency to oversteer and was extremely tail-happy, which is not something you always want.

Due to their extremely rev-happy engine and light-weight, these cars make for excellent weekend warriors or even race cars. They are good daily drivers, but hard high-end revs is where the engine in the S2000 wants to be to get the maximum out of it. The car is very good at changing directs and tracking the course you set it to, due to its weight, or lack of to put it better. It's a great modding platform too. Furious Customs carries lots of parts for the Honda S2000, so go ahead and view them right here.
