Welcome to the world of Acura

Posted by

Acura's history and origins are very interesting. It's not a brand that started out in racing, or a brand that became popular because it introduced lots of technical innovations. Something was introduced however. Honda, realizing the potential in a separate sub-division (brand) only selling premium cars, launched Acura in 1986. Honda knew that by having a separate brand only selling high-end luxury cars, the brand wouldn't be associated with anything else, driving the quality, price and image of their products to even greater lengths.

Acura is the first Japanese luxury brand. After Acura, Toyota and Nissan wanted a piece of the action as well, and so, Lexus and Infiniti, respectively, were spawned. Both failed to match Acura's success however. It become one of the best selling brands in the USA. Honda had plans to introduce the brand to the JDM, but that plan fell in the water after some financial difficulties.

The 90's were rough for the brand. Despite their quality, not many cars were sold. All this changed with the NSX however, a car that became oh so popular worldwide. A car developed by Ayrton Senna himself, considered by some the greatest racing driver of all times. What really helped Acura however, was the re-styling done in the 2000's. Being a sub-brand of one of the biggest car companies in the world certainly has its traits, in this case taking the shape of a finished car. Lots of Acura's cars were re-badged Hondas, but with better interior, and in some cases even exterior.

Whatever kind of Acura you drive, you can be sure it's one hell of a cool car. It may not be a Q-car, but it's definitely something understated. Furious Customs has lots of parts for your Integra, RSX, TL and TSX. Make sure to check the offer out right here.
